Klarissa's Dedication

It has been a tradition to have my dad dedicate each of our babies. This time around was unique in that he is bed bound due to his battling cancer and it has been several months since he has been able to preach. Joshua and Katie have been praying for months that their PopPop would be able to dedicate our new baby. So, although we still plan to have a dedication performed in our church where David's family can be there, we decided to have my dad read some scripture and pray for Klarissa after their Sunday morning service. The people gathered in the garage around his bed and he performed a beautiful dedication for her. I wasn't sure with his condition how much he would be able to do, but it was an incredibly beautiful and special ceremony! God's presence was so near!

My dad has his bed in the garage which is attached to the house. Mom (with her incredible decorating abilities) has decorated the garage (leaving all of Dad's tools in their place!) so it's a very cute and cozy family room. It's nice because it is large and allows groups of people to visit Dad. Notice how mom decorated his ladders for the grand kids with books and stuffed animals. Sometimes you'll see the grand kids grab a book off the ladder and sit by PopPop's bed and look at it.

Debbie has a big servant's heart! She is always serving others.


Betty and Randy drive in from Columbus (an hour drive) to worship with Dad and Mom's church family. They joined us for Sunday dinner. We had a nice time visiting with them.
